Singapore Unit Trusts Limited (SUT) was
incorporated on August 17, 1959 as Malayan Unit Trust Limited. SUT assumed its
present name on May 6, 1960.
SUT became a member company of the Permodalan National Berhad (PNB) Group after
being acquired by PNB International Limited (Labuan) in 2000, (a wholly owned
subsidiary of PNB).
Permodalan Nasional Berhad, the ultimate shareholder of Singapore Unit Trusts
Limited, is one of the largest assets managers in Malaysia with unit-holders or
investors exceeding 9 million people and assets under management of
approximately RM103.8 billion (as at February 28th, 2009).
Incorporated on 17 March 1978, PNB was conceived as
a pivotal instrument of the Government's New Economic Policy to promote share
ownership in the corporate sector among the Bumiputera, and develop
opportunities for suitable Bumiputera professionals to participate in the
creation and management of wealth.
